Today - 13th March - Maverick Sabre releases his first single of 2026, “8 Stages”, co-produced by himself & Ben Mckone, released via FAMM. The song opens with a spoken sequence of thoughts from Mav, reflecting on fading memories of people who were once close. He shares quiet reflections on the people he’s lost, looking back on brighter days while holding onto hope for those still to come. Carried by a beautiful guitar lead, “8 Stages” captures the feeling of drifting away from people we never made amends with. It’s a reminder that tomorrow is never guaranteed, so we should make the most of the day we’re in. With navigating life becoming more challenging by the day, Mav has never shied away from speaking on the challenges of the world around him, consistently using his voice to raise awareness through his words, music and performances. An artist who refuses to separate himself from politics, he continues to stand firmly on the right side of history. His voice and cultural footprint in the music scene remain undeniable, and when new music arrives it signals that exciting things are on the horizon. Since his inception he has never slowed down and is currently in Australia supporting Hilltop Hoods on their sold-out six-week stadium tour, alongside his own headline shows at Factory Theatre and Corner Hotel

Born in Stoke Newington, Mav moved to Ireland when he was four, spending his formative years in County Wexford before returning to London when he was seventeen. Raised on a rich musical diet of Blues, Folk, and Country passed down from his father, he developed an early and unshakable passion for music. This love evolved as he dove into the Irish Hip-Hop scene as a young teen, quickly gaining recognition as both an artist and a producer, crafting beats throughout his adolescence. Over the years, his sound has evolved into a distinctive fusion of his diverse influences, drawing further inspiration from trailblazers like The Stone Roses, The Beatles, Tupac, Cymande, 9th Wonder, DJ Premier and Nas. In today's music landscape, few can claim a career spanning over a decade, but Irish singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Maverick Sabre stands among them. With four albums under his belt and collaborations with artists like George The Poet, Olivia Dean, Nia Archives, Joey Bada$$, Chronixx, Jorja Smith, Nile Rogers, Vintage Culture and Chase & Status, to name a few, Sabre has kept himself busy.

One of the most celebrated contemporary Irish singers, Mav has been releasing music for over a decade. Ten years after the original release of his debut album, he re-recorded the project to reclaim ownership of the masters, reinforcing his commitment to artistic independence. Across his career, Mav has built a loyal global audience, amassing over 5 million monthly listeners. He is also one of the few artists to have performed three COLORS sessions and is a member of YOURS, a four-piece house collective. His latest album, “Burn The Right Things Down”, saw Mav explore new sonic territory, arriving alongside a sold-out tour that reflected the project’s success. Two of the album’s tracks, “Roses Ether” and “Weak,” were featured on the EA Sports FC 25 soundtrack, further expanding its reach. The album’s campaign also included appearances with DJ AG, TNT Sports, Sunday Brunch, The Financial Times, and Chuckie, alongside a special appearance on the Down The Caff series at E Pellicci, where his warmth and personality shone through.

With a multi-platinum catalogue and a history of UK Top 10 records, Maverick Sabre continues to connect with audiences around the world

  • Lyrics

    In life things change

I wish I could fly away

    To find a way

    A brighter day

    In life things change

    Feel the pain now

For a minute and just chase today

Does heaven have just one way in

    Some pray to the father

But no one loves you like your mother did

Names in the stars so I guess we’ll see

Them when we make a wish

Can’t escape death lately can’t promise

    Days turn off the lights

    Remembering faces of every man

    That never said goodbye

Saw the phone ringing and saw his name

    But never made amends

I hope that you hear me

    Apologise until we speak again

    Carry you with me with

Every step I take I wish I could

Bring you back to solid ground

Don’t need angels I need something good

All on the same road just tryna to pave the way to brighter days

Sometimes excuses make me believe that we can hide again

    And not make the effort

    Todays important but tomorrows

Never guaranteed, still floating in the distance

    In life things change

I wish I could fly away

    To find a way

    A brighter day

    In life things change

    Feel the pain now

For a minute and just chase today

    In life things change

I wish I could fly away

    To find a way

    A brighter day

    In life things change

    Feel the pain now

For a minute and just chase today

    Still have your messages

Sent my promise in a bottle

I hope that it reaches you

    When you get home

Some say you fade and slip away

    Then it all goes dark

I hope that you smile when you let go

    If only I could hear

    When you’re not far away

Just know that I am near

    Whenever you want.

    In life things change

I wish I could fly away

    To find a way

    A brighter day

    In life things change

    Feel the pain now

For a minute and just chase today

    In life things change

I wish I could fly away

    To find a way

    A brighter day

    In life things change

    Feel the pain now

For a minute and just chase today
