Los Angeles native Mack Keane releases a compelling new music video for his latest single "Falling Short" a visual that feels unmistakably inspired by the voyeuristic spirit of Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1954 film Rear Window. It is a bold and cinematic creative choice, one that speaks to an artist who thinks as carefully about the visual world of his music as he does about the music itself.
The video employs a unique and captivating point of view a single, fixed perspective that draws the eye across an interesting and richly observed array of individuals going about their lives in a quintessential American neighbourhood. Like Hitchcock's original masterpiece, there is something quietly compelling about watching people from a distance, catching fragments of lives in motion a gesture here, a glance there each moment a small, self-contained story unfolding within the larger frame.
The neighbourhood itself becomes a character in its own right. Familiar and deeply American in its detail, it provides a vivid and grounded backdrop against which the emotional themes of "Falling Short" play out — a song about inadequacy, longing, and the quiet gap between who we are and who we hoped to be. Watched through this Hitchcockian lens, those themes take on a new and resonant dimension, the act of looking becoming as much a part of the story as what is being seen.
With "Falling Short," Mack Keane once again demonstrates that he is an artist operating with a clear and fully realised creative vision one that extends far beyond the music and into the world of visual storytelling. It is a music video that rewards close attention, and one that leaves you wanting to look again.

Mack Keane is an independent artist from Los Angeles. Growing up in a family of musicians, it’s only natural that he thrives as an artist, producer, songwriter, and performer, but above all else, Mack is a storyteller, deeply in tune with both himself and his surroundings. Channeling his experiences into cathartic melodies and lyrics, he strives to create an experience for his listeners in which they can find pieces of themselves in his stories.
In 2022, he came onto the scene with his widely-renowned EP Intersections with Soulection mainstay ESTA., which included the lauded single “O.M.L.” Since then, he’s collaborated with the likes of Kaytranada, Joyce Wrice, Terrace Martin, and many more.
Fast-forward to 2025, and Mack’s climb continued. His self-written-and-produced project Entries thrust him back into the conversation, and he joined Grammy-nominated artist DESTIN CONRAD on both the US and EU legs of the Love On Digital Tour. He also released the first single “Candycrush” from debut album, Wide Eyed, which was just released on May 8, in partnership with broke records and StarTrak Entertainment. Leading up to the release, Mack was chosen as one of Spotify’s Artists to Watch for 2026 and performed his song “Cherry Red” for COLORSxSTUDIOS.
Driven by the clarity of self-reflection and unapologetic honesty, this newest era sees him more vulnerable than ever before, promising a prolific output on par with that of his idols. With his most authentic music on the horizon, Mack Keane is grounded in the present, enjoying every step of his ascent.
