Following her attention-grabbing sophomore EP Good Graces last year, London alternative R&B and soul artist Lucy Park bursts back to life with her first solo track of 2026 with “BLUE SASHIKO” – a gorgeous, slow-burning yet visceral track that will  continue the growing attention around her as one of the brightest new voices in the  UK landscape.

Following a standout recent feature on elusive London alt collective H.LLS’s track  “GUERILLAZ”, Lucy continues to underline exactly why she’s building a significant and  rapidly growing following in new-gen R&B circles; “BLUE SASHIKO”, produced by Aire

Atlantica (Doechii, SZA) and Rob Aragón (SPINALL, Hope Tala) begins with a rainfall soft, pensive acoustic guitar strum before blooming to life with a trip-hop instrumental punctuated by flute or cuica blasts – laying a fertile and tropical bed for Lucy’s signature vocal – able to move from rich, deep tones to falsetto at will. Discreet digital

scratches and touches mix beautifully with the intriguing use of instrumentation to  compelling, exotic effect.

Speaking on the track, Lucy states: "‘BLUE SASHIKO’ is a song about stitching  patterns into relationships and constructing / deconstructing yourself with a bunch of  tiny little stitches. When I wrote it I had been thinking a lot about the threads that tie  us together and how difficult it can feel to tear them apart… Sashiko is a type of  Japanese embroidery that uses running stitches to repair and reinforce torn fabric. It  often creates a new more visible pattern instead of attempting to discreetly hide the  original tears."

Racing to over 42M streams following her debut EP Before I Speak establishing her  as a significant new talent, critical attention has come swiftly across both sides of the  Atlantic, with the likes of DAZED, THE FADER, COLORSXSTUDIOS and WONDERLAND proclaiming a cerebral, multi-layered new talent. Her recent addition  as one of THE NORTH FACE’s ‘Ones To Watch’ places her in the same ranks that  has held the likes of Sampha, Lil Silva and Ama – an organic collaboration underlined  by Lucy’s early upbringing moving across Japan and Hawaii before settling in London.

With a standout performance at this weekend’s Brick Lane Jazz Festival leading to her  official support to Katie Tupper on her upcoming UK and EU tour, “BLUE SASHIKO”  lights to touchpaper for an artist that’s showcasing the kind of innovative and global sonic influences and notable artistic collabs that feel both fresh and necessary. With  a slew of new music set for release and a new EP on the horizon, Lucy Park sets pace  as one of the most individual homegrown ones to watch for 2026.
