Triple MOBO Award-winning rapper Guvna B returns with his powerful new album‘This Bed I Made’, alongside the up-tempo focus single Healing Power featuring Ghanaian artist AratheJay. A standout moment on the record, ‘Healing Power’ sees Guvna B tap into his Ghanaian heritage, connecting with one of the most exciting rising voices making waves across Ghana and beyond. A deeply reflective body of work,‘This Bed I Made explores Guvna B’s personal journey through addiction, recovery, and the stigma that often surrounds it. Rooted firmly in the conscious rap space, the project is accompanied by a short film of the same name, blending jazz-inflected rap with cinematic storytelling. The short film is directed by Christoph Davis, it is written by and starring Guvna B himself, offering an intimate portrayal of addiction and recovery as lived experience. Shaped by his own story, the project confronts themes of accountability and the quiet, often difficult process of rebuilding a life after it has fallen apart. Supported by The Forward Trust and Samaritans, both the album and film aim to spark meaningful conversations around mental health, addiction, and recovery. The record is further enriched by reflections from renowned trauma expert Dr Gabor Maté, whose insights bring a clinical lens to the themes at its core.

The 11-track album features a range of standout collaborations. Brighton-based rap duo Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn appear on ‘Stickers On The Wall’, a distinctive conscious hip-hop track that sees Guvna B open up about fatherhood. This theme continues on ‘Breakfast in The Sky’, which captures a touching, fly-on-the-wall conversation between Guv and his two children. Elsewhere, ‘Nearly’ features Bawo, whose melodic, vulnerable rap style complements the track’s introspective tone, while rising French-Congolese singer Claudia Isaki appears on ‘Kintsugi’. Additional contributors include Samm Henshaw and the Melodies fromHeaven Choir, with production credits spanning Benjiflow, TSB, Joel Baker, Maths Time Joy, Quinn Oulton, SAMPAH, Zento, and Jacob Riddall. Guvna B’s delivery feels deeply therapeutic, with reflective bars that carry the weight of spoken-word poetry. Across the project, he addresses a pivotal period in his life, stepping away from the spotlight to confront personal struggles. The result is an album rooted in vulnerability and introspection, exploring themes of pain, faith, honesty, shame, and repair. To mark the release of the accompanying film, Guvna B hosted a special screening at the Curzon Cinema, followed by a Q&A with Jordan Stephens alongside representatives from The Forward Trust and Samaritans. The event became a powerful community moment, with speakers sharing deeply personal stories. Guests included MBETony Adams, Jeremiah Asiamah, Samm Henshaw, Kwaku Asante, Reuben Larkin, and Jay Prince. Recently, he also joined BBC Radio 1 for a powerful discussion on men’s mental health alongside Prince William and Professor Green, hosted by Greg James, a conversation that further highlighted his commitment to vulnerability and to sparking meaningful dialogue through music and storytelling.

There are several chances to experience the album live in full effect this summer. Guvna B has announced he will perform two special shows at the iconic Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, he is alsoperforming at the Love Supreme Festival, where his immersive live show will bring the project’s emotion and energy to life. Known for translating vulnerability into a powerful shared experience, his sets offer a deeper connection to the music. ‘This Bed I Made stands as his most honest and emotionally open work to date, rooted in self-examination, accountability and hope.

  • Throughout his career, Guv has resisted easy trends in favour of difficult truths, drawing on his own experiences to spark meaningful conversation. Where others chase algorithms, his work consistently searches within and delves deep into his personal experiences. His collaboration with D Double E, confronted youth violence head-on, amplifying a conversation he continues to champion. On 'The Village Is On Fire', he examined racism and social division with clarity and vulnerability. 'The Village Is On Fire' debuted at No.1 on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Chart. With three MOBOs, multiple UMA Awards, ten albums and two books under his belt (including Unspoken, his powerful work on toxic masculinity and manhood), Guvna B is a cultural force well beyond music. He has collaborated with award-winning writer and actress Michaela Coel, Ezra Collective, DarkoVibes, D Double E and Wretch 32.
