Ady Suleiman releases Visualiser for new single “What If”, taken from forthcoming album “Chasing”

Ady Suleiman - What If (Visualiser)

Today, Thursday 11th December, singer-songwriter Ady Suleiman releases his new single “What If”, taken from his forthcoming album “Chasing”, out 16th January. “What If” explores moments of self-doubt and internal conflict, with Ady opening up about feeling inadequate in both social situations and romantic relationships. Set against a smoky, jazz-leaning backdrop, produced by Miles Clinton James (known for work with Little Simz and KOKOROKO) the song captures the uncertainty that shadows him throughout. “What If” sits alongside the earlier single “Miracle”, with both tracks touching on Ady’s mental and emotional struggles, subjects he’s consistently approached with honesty. By sharing these experiences, he continues to offer a sense of connection and community to listeners who see their own stories reflected in his music.

Ady returned earlier this year from a brief hiatus and has been setting the tone with a run of singles, starting with “Miracle,” followed by “Never Meant To Hurt You” featuring Kofi Stone, and most recently “Brother.” With the album now just over a month away, he’s looking ahead to sharing his most personal work yet. Written between London and Zanzibar, “Chasing” is an intimate exploration of love, identity, mental health, and heritage. It reintroduces Ady not just as an artist, but as a storyteller, honest, expansive, and ready to be heard after years of personal and creative evolution. In both sound and visuals, these releases mark the beginning of a new chapter, one that reconnects him with his Swahili roots while celebrating the rhythms, narratives, and influences that have always been closest to his heart.

ABOUT

For Ady Suleiman, music was more than just entertainment in his childhood, it was a portal of immersion and imagination. Growing up in Grantham, East Midlands, he often felt stifled by a lack of cultural outlets and spent his teenage years yearning for creative expression. That outlet arrived in the form of his first guitar - a gift from his godfather - which sparked an obsession with songwriting and performance. Later, it was his father’s purchase of a Best of Jimi Hendrix compilation that broadened Ady’s musical horizons and Hendrix quickly became a foundational influence. Supported by a nurturing family, Ady eventually left home to study music at the University of Liverpool. There, surrounded by ambitious creatives, he gained confidence and clarity in his path. By his second year, he realised that gigging was essential, the only way to truly understand himself as an artist and begin unveiling the songs he’d been quietly writing. His first taste of wider attention came when he posted a performance of his original track “What’s The Score” from Liverpool, blending the rawness of live music with the reach of social media. The post quickly gained traction, earning him a dose of micro-virality. That momentum continued with “Stay At Mine,” a video shot on a train, which confirmed that Ady wasn’t a passing talent but a genuine emerging artist. Co-signs from Nottingham reggae icon Liam Bailey and Chance The Rapper further validated his potential, boosting his self-belief. A little over a decade ago, Ady signed his first record deal and released a series of EPs, including This Is My EP and Ady Suleiman, the latter featuring a collaboration with Joey Bada$$. A debut album, national tour, including a sold-out show at Electric Brixton, and a mixtape soon followed.
