Ye formerly Kanye West has broken the internet with the release of his 12th solo studio album “Bully”. Public opinion and reviews of Bully have been mixed, but in my opinion Bully is more than an album its a moment in time. Many of Ye’s detractors are turned off by his antics and the controversy that surrounds him, if you take all of that away at his core Ye is a talented artist.
To coincide with the release of Bully Ye dropped a music video for vibrant track Father featuring Travis Scott. Father has bouncy clubby vibe that juxtaposes with the religious church theme of the music video. Ye and Travis glide over the backing track with smart funny witty bars filled with opulence and bravado.
Bully album review:
After listening to Ye’s formerly Kanye West new album “Bully” twice I can say that it is a solid project not one of his best. I like the nostalgic feel of the album the soulful samples and heavy drums. For me the album is missing Ye’s trademark conceptual approach to song making. I give the album a 7 out of 10 very enjoyable but not groundbreaking.
