English synth-pop artist La Roux — the solo project of singer and producer Elly Jackson — returns with the vibrant new single "Babyline," the second offering from her highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Old Flames”. The album is set for release on November 6th via Casablanca Records, following previously released lead single "Cabin Fever”.

"Babyline" is a playful, vibrant single packed with colourful production and clever lyrics. It's bright and sun-soaked from the first note, full of the kind of energy that makes you want to turn it up — but underneath the fun, La Roux's writing is as sharp and self-aware as ever. It's the kind of song that feels effortless on the surface, even though every line has clearly been thought through.

  • I’m not scared of being honest

    Not scared of being me

Not scared to take that jump, I’m not scared to make that leap

    I’m walking out that mud

Don’t stand in front of me

I’m here to rise like phoenix, they delegated me

I can hear the rain stop and I can see those white doves

now my boat’s stopped rocking I can even stand up

Got my high cards hidden, don’t let anything out

Moving into my vision moving out of my doubt

    CHORUS

When the light is on your face

When you finally see through the rain

When it’s time to start again

    It’s your season

When the light is on your face

When you finally see through the rain

When it’s time to start again

    Its your season

Just stop making all those promises

    Making all those claims

Stop waiting for that love that keeps making all that pain

The tried to find that trust

(It’s) so hard to give away

I’ve redesigned my reflex, I’m training for that game

I can feel the start stopping baby this is madness

Oh don’t stop running had enough of sadness

Got my sights on mission don’t let anything out

Oh I might as well listen baby tell me what its all about

    CHORUS

When the light is on your face

When you finally see through the rain

When it’s time to start again

    It’s your season

When the light is on your face

When you finally see through the rain

When it’s time to start again

    It’s your season

    OUTRO

Only here for the millionth time is this the best I’ll ever be?

Only taken a minute’s time just to get ahead of me

All the way to the finish line, taken all my energy

How can I ever get it right if I am my own enemy?
