Southampton-born, London-based musician Reuben Aziz releases his new single ‘circle’, following the viral success of ‘shotgun’. Written over Christmas while back in his hometown of Southampton, the original idea was produced using a broken guitar from Reuben’s archive before he carefully crafted the sound that feels distinctly his own. While ‘shotgun’ reintroduced Reuben as a standout voice in modern R&B - blending pitched vocals with cinematic production - ‘circle’ signals a new level of intention in his artistry, something that he’s fixated on keeping integral to his processes. As his audience continues to grow, Reuben enters this next chapter focused on refinement, momentum, and the build-up to his second full project, due this summer.
Reuben Aziz is an artist balancing Rap and R&B in equal measure, sitting stylistically between Ed Sheeran and Skepta. Known for pairing melodic songwriting with R&B-meets-Rap-led production, he’s equally comfortable crafting guitar-led ballads or R&B-driven tracks over his own instrumentals. Whether recording alone in his DIY bedroom setup or alongside the likes of Kairo Keyz, Backroad Gee, and Proph, Reuben approaches his craft with intent and curiosity beyond his 22 years. Raised in Southampton, he shifted from a near-career in basketball to music during his teens, a move that sparked multiple viral moments and led to co-signs. To capitalise on a successful year, last month Reuben partnered with Salomon for an in-store performance and giveaway, making waves across culture and social, earning co-signs from HYPEBEAST UK, Clash, and more, marking a standout activation among his peers.
Reuben started the year on a high, with ‘shotgun’ earning co-signs from two of his musical idols - UK rap heavyweight Potter Payper and his US counterpart, 4batz. He’s since used that momentum to sharpen his focus and fuel a growing vision of becoming a defining voice in the UK scene by 2026, a trajectory already being recognised by underground platforms and respected tastemakers alike. With ‘circle’ marking his latest step forward, this moment feels like a clear tipping point - one that Reuben is moving quickly to capitalise on.
