Reuben Aziz releases Visualizer video for ‘stuck on us’ ahead of an intimate performance in London corner-store.
Reuben Aziz - stuck on us (Official Visualizer)
Southampton-born, London-based artist Reuben Aziz returns with his new single, “stuck on us.” Further marking his creative role, Reuben delivers his signature blend of R&B, infused with production nods to his favourite artist, Michael Jackson, and rich instrumentation reminiscent of PartyNextDoor. While his sound remains rooted in the next generation of R&B, Reuben broadens his palette in the latter half of the track with a dance-infused breakdown, which he produced himself. Having built an audience through his captivating vocals, he experiments here with a multi-layered approach blending his organic singing voice with sped-up vocals to fuse every element of his artistic DNA into one cohesive sound. A recurring theme in Reuben’s recent releases is love, and he explains, “‘stuck on us’ is about being in love with someone or something so much, and the hunger that comes alongside that - I hope it’s something a lot of my listeners can relate to.
Reuben Aziz champions himself as an artist pursuing Rap and R&B in equal measure. For comparison’s sake, he sits between Ed Sheeran and Skepta, resonating with tastemakers through his ability to create both guitar-tinged pop ballads and R&B bangers across rap instrumentals. Whether making music in his DIY bedroom studio setup or working in avant-garde studios with the likes of Kairo Keyz, Backroad Gee, and Proph, Reuben takes his craft seriously. Although he's just 21, his music encyclopedia reflects that of a seasoned veteran - courtesy of his sonic curiosity and his father's inspirations while growing up. Reuben was brought up on the South Coast of England in Southampton, where he spent his early years playing basketball, a hobby that almost became a career. Considering music was always a huge part of his life, he pivoted towards making his own during his teens, which led to multiple viral moments. His success wasn't overnight, and he worked tirelessly to earn co-signs from Clint (Corteiz), Jim Legxacy, Stormzy, and a supporting slot on the UK and EU tour with The Artemas. His debut project, ‘how did we end up here’ [2024], saw Reuben develop some of his earliest demos into their final form, earning support from COLORS, HUNGER, Clash, and more.
‘stuck on us’ arrives ahead of an intimate performance at a corner-store in Shoreditch on 19th November in partnership with Salomon for an evening where he will present his artistic duality in a non-conventional setting. As Reuben continues to spotlight the excitement of UK R&B, he celebrates young love and romance in an extremely positive light for an all round feel-good energy. He’s now stepping further into his sound while expanding what an emerging tastemaker artist can represent ahead of a new project on the horizon.
