Today, Friday, October 17, 2025 - Nigerian rapper and singer Blaqbonez releases his highly anticipated fourth studio album, ‘No Excuses’. Alongside the release he has unveiled the cinematic, DON Prod–directed video for his latest single, “Consistency,” featuring Ladbroke Grove’s own AJ Tracey. Produced by Telz and Kofo Sound, the track is a sharp, melodic statement of intent that reaffirms Blaqbonez’s lyrical prowess and sets the tone for the project. The 17-track album boasts an all-star lineup including Pa Salieu, Phyno, Olamide, Leostaytrill, Fola, The Kazez, Mellissa, Young Jonn, KindlyNxsh, Brotherkupa, Wave$tar, Major AJ, Bella Shmurda, Barry Jhay, Zinoleesky, Valiant, and Ayo Maff. Production duties are handled by an equally heavyweight roster with Jae5, Magicsticks, Blaisebeatz, and Black Culture among the standout contributors. The album rollout follows a landmark moment earlier this month when Blaqbonez became the first Nigerian artist to walk the runway for Vivienne Westwood, a milestone that cements his growing influence at the intersection of music and fashion. He was also spotted front row at Vetements, MAINS, and Labrum, underscoring his rise as one of Africa’s most exciting global style icons.

‘No Excuses’ opens with the powerful “Everlasting Taker,” produced by Grammy Award-winning hitmaker RAGEE. Its self-directed music video, released just last month, has already surpassed one million views, a testament to Blaqbonez’s signature creativity and unapologetic lyricism. The project bursts with energy on tracks like “Bizzy Body” featuring Valiant, Kazez Twins, and Major AJ, “Nati” featuring Olamide, and “Go Crazy,” all destined to ignite dance floors worldwide. Reflecting Blaqbonez’s deep immersion in the UK creative scene, the album was partly recorded in London and boasts standout collaborations, including “Mary Mary” with rising UK talent Leostaytrill, as well as dynamic link-ups with Pa Salieu and AJ Tracey. The Pa Salieu-assisted “Aura 4 Aura” stands out as a dark, experimental masterpiece, showcasing both artists’ versatility, distinctive sonic identities, and effortless genre-blending approach. The track is produced by AOD, celebrated for his previous  work with J Hus, Rema, Stormzy and Asake amongst others.

Born Akumefule Chukwuemeka George in Lagos, Blaqbonez studied Computer Engineering before fully dedicating himself to music. Known for his individuality and fearless experimentation, he fuses Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Drill, R&B, and Alté while pushing against societal norms. His previous album, ‘Emeka Must Shine’, won the 2023 Headies Award for Best Rap Album and produced viral hits including “LIKE ICE SPICE” and “NO SLEEP $$$” with Young Jonn. Over the years, he has collaborated with global stars such as Ludacris, Amaarae, Victony, Ayra Starr, CKay, JAE5, Yungs Teflon, and Black Sherif. His influence, however, extends far beyond music. He was the only Nigerian hip-hop artist to perform at BET’s Grammy Hip Hop at 50 special in 2024, has been spotlighted by The New York Times as part of Nigeria’s “new guard,” and has appeared for three consecutive years (2021–2023) on Rolling Stone’s “50 Innovators Shaping Rap’s Next 50 Years.”

Blaqbonez calls ‘No Excuses’ his “Super Saiyan era”, a creative high defined by fearless expression, global ambition, and culture-shifting sound. He has generated undeniable buzz ahead of his album release, teaming up with UK rapper Knucks on 'Goldtooth', a collaboration that cements his rising status among the UK rap elite. The project spans introspective storytelling and explosive anthems, asserting his place at the forefront of African hip-hop. With ‘No Excuses’, Blaqbonez continues to redefine the genre, fusing music, fashion, and cultural commentary into one unmistakable voice. Four albums in, with multiple awards and international collaborations to his name, he stands as one of the most visionary artists shaping the future of African music on the global stage.
