Today - 22nd August - Nigerian rapper and singer Blaqbonez releases his new single ‘Everlasting Taker’ and officially announces his forthcoming fourth studio album, ‘No Excuses’, slated for release soon. ‘Everlasting Taker’ is a forward-thinking rap anthem that fuses introspective lyricism with infectious melodies, produced by Grammy award winning producer RAGEE, the single showcases Blaqbonez’s signature genre-fluid style. The song captures the essence of Blaqbonez, an artist defined by relentless drive, unwavering consistency, and an unshakable presence, poised to dominate without excuses. The uptempo track underscores his versatility as both a sharp lyricist and melodic craftsman, reaffirming his place as one of Africa’s most dynamic musical voices. Earlier this year, Blaqbonez immersed himself in London’s creative and cultural scene, attending studio sessions with LEOSTAYTRILL and JAE5, and participating in London Fashion Week. His stay also included a special guest performance at Black Sherif’s sold-out headline show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, as well as time pitchside at a Chelsea FC game.

Born Akumefule Chukwuemeka George in Lagos, Blaqbonez earned a degree in Computer Engineering before pursuing music full-time. Despite early resistance from his family, he carved out his own lane with an unmistakable sound that defies convention, effortlessly blending Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Drill, R&B, and Alté. Known for his larger-than-life personality and unfiltered opinions, including his rejection of societal norms like monogamy, Blaq has always followed his own path, with an unapologetic approach to artistry. Blaqbonez’s previous album, ‘Emeka Must Shine’, earned the 2023 Headies Award for Best Rap Album and delivered viral hits like ‘LIKE ICE SPICE’ and ‘NO SLEEP $$$’ featuring Young Jonn. Over the years, he’s collaborated with a diverse lineup of global artists, including Ludacris, Amaarae, Victony, Ayra Starr, CKay, Yungs Teflon, JAE5, and Black Sherif. Now, with ‘No Excuses’, Blaqbonez enters what he describes as his “Super Saiyan era”—a creative high point defined by fearless expression, global ambition, and culture-shifting sound. From introspective moments to explosive anthems, this project promises to be his boldest and most defining work yet. The album has already sparked international buzz with the release of singles like ‘W for Wetego’ featuring Young Jonn and Phyno, Follow Her’ with Kizz Daniel, and ‘Go Crazy.’

As Blaqbones prepares for a global rollout, including activations and collaborations in London and a series of live performances, Blaqbonez makes one thing clear: ‘No Excuses’ isn’t just an album. It’s a mission statement.
