Today Mia Nicolai delivers a much needed dose of dopamine with her brand new video for ‘Nothing Compares To This Feeling’. The video got its first look on Atwood Magazine who described the result as ’a portrait full of space and light, one that beautifully echoes the song’s celebration of life’s natural beauty and joy.’

Directed by Joelle Taylor (Lisa of BLACKPINK, Teddy Swims, Charli XCX) the new, accompanying visual is here to pick you up next time you need a little boost. Nothing Compares To This Feeling is a joyous break in the clouds and a wonderfully infectious offering. Sharing more Mia explained: “Nothing Compares is about reconnecting with yourself—remembering who you are beneath layers of expectation and societal pressure. I started to feel like I belonged the moment I accepted that I didn’t feel like I belonged. Isn’t that funny?

I hope this is the song people put on when they need a lift—or when they’re already feeling good and want to dance that feeling out. I imagine it playing while biking, running, or simply moving through the world. Let it be your reminder that when things feel dark, light always finds its way back in.”

Today’s new video arrives hot on the heels of Mia’s latest single ‘drowning’ which landed last month, taking shape as an evocative and empowering moment of self acceptance. Through her honest lyricism, ‘drowning’ saw Mia draw on her experiences living with ADHD and depicts the power in working with your true self rather than against yourself.

Nothing Compares to This Feeling is taken from Mia Nicolai’s debut EP Sharing Space Among The Stars. The EP, released at the end of last year via Superglue Records, was produced by Vetle Junker (AURORA, SKAAR, Janelle Kroll) and executive-produced by Ella Vos and Tommy English. (Add Tommy’s: Børns, billy idol, Jonas brothers, kacey musgraves)The release marks Mia’s first true statement as an artist, with its dreamy cinematics and generous sprinkle of theatrical spirit nodding to her heroes Bowie and Queen. Written across London, Los Angeles, and Bergen, Norway, the project saw Mia rediscover her voice after a whirlwind of experiences throughout her 20s.

Through her releases like “Chasing Lullabies” and “Spend the Night,” Mia invites listeners to see fear as curiosity and imperfection as beauty. She hopes her music inspires people to do the thing that scares them and to follow their own North Star. “Nobody knows what we’re doing here,” she laughs. “So we might as well make it into a party.”

Born in Amsterdam with an instinct to entertain, LA-based Mia Nicolai has cultivated a sound that seamlessly blends theatrical pop with raw emotion and dreamlike vulnerability. Her adventurous attitude and hunger for experience saw her go on to represent the Netherlands at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. This became a formative experience that fueled both personal and professional growth, shaping her into the accomplished artist you hear today. As she strides into her next phase, Mia is your artist to watch in 2026.
