Following a standout run of releases this year, including incendiary solo cuts and dynamic collaborations with H.ILLS and FKJ, London-based artist and creative Lucy Park returns with her brand-new EP, THREAD 27 - released via 10K.
With critical acclaim coming swiftly across the landscape, from DAZED to OUTLANDER MAGAZINE’s viral radio takeover, the young vocalist affirms her position in London’s cultural spotlight as her latest body of work enters the spotlight,
underlining why she’s building a serious following across new-gen circles in the UK and beyond.
A compelling sign of the rich, warped offerings to follow, THREAD 27 opens with the slow-burning yet visceral cut “BLUE SASHIKO.” Embodying the intricacy and restoring nature of the Japanese embroidery method, the discreet digital scratches and blooming textures perfectly introduce the EP’s arc - using the language of universal art forms like sewing, drawing, painting, technology, and mosaic to breakdown and rebuild one’s self, finding form, feeling, and ultimately, clarity in the chaos of new relationships, inner-city living, and the vigorous journey towards self
discovery.
“DIZZY” continues the disorientation, both physically and romantically, as Lucy gets lost in her surroundings while distorted guitar licks and syncopated percussion add to the warped sense of distance and uncertainty she tries to calm and clarify.
Switching the tempo with infectious alt-pop sensibilities, “OUTLINE” signals a moment of familiarity and self-realisation; “draw the shapes I know,” she echoes, letting intimate emotions and memories guide her through the complexities before channelling focus on “TOUCH CONTROL.” Exploring the toxicity of controlling someone or something, in this case, the overbearing attachment we have to our phones and digital spaces, Lucy dives deep into the impact of manipulation that can spiral in a new relationship, contrasted by the blissful R&B instrumentation and vocal harmonies intensifying the confusion and distress that follows suit.
Next up, standout cut “PAINT ME A DREAM” sees Norwegian artist and producer Botaii join the fold, cutting through the tension to deliver pure melodic intimacy. The two vocalists connect with a sparking chemistry, gliding over spacey guitar plucks and chest-rattling basslines while exploring love as a canvas for growth and vulnerability in the face of something real. Closing out with “MOSAIC,” the stripped-back offering opens pockets for Lucy to fully reflect on the moments that steadily built up and reshaped her life. Piece by piece, 27 years in the making, the young artist hopes we can all find parts of ourselves in THREAD 27, wherever we might be in our journey.
Racing to well over 42M streams and standout collaborations with London collective H.ILLS on “GUERILLAZ” and French multi-instrumentalist FKJ on his forthcoming album, Tyber - part of a rare feature list alongside Labrinth, Baby Rose, Bas, and Eryn Allen Kane - Lucy Park first made waves with her debut EP Before I Speak in 2021. The release firmly introduced a significant voice with tenderness only deepened by her lyricism, delivered with understated intimacy to full effect. A stream of powerful single releases continued the momentum, all leading up to the release of her highly acclaimed body of work, GOOD GRACES, last year. With the kind of innovative sonic influences and notable artistic collabs she’s collecting at pace, the rising talent will no doubt continue her trajectory as one of London’s brightest stars in the making.
With THREAD 27 finally at our fingertips, 2026 looks set to be a milestone year for Lucy Park as her unique sound and influence take shape across international waters.
