Today, Thursday 19 March – Triple MOBO Award-winning rapper Guvna B returns with his powerful new single, ‘Rest My Head’, alongside the announcement of his forthcoming album ‘This Bed I Made’, set for release on April 24. The 11-track project features collaborations with Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn, Bawo, AratheJay and Claudia Isaki. Collaboratively produced by Joel Baker and Maths Time Joy, ‘Rest My Head’ sets the tone for the album with its dramatic live instrumentation and drums, allowing Guvna B to express himself with striking honesty. His delivery feels therapeutic, with reflective bars that echo the depth of spoken-word poetry. ‘Rest My Head’ sees Guvna B addressing the past few years, a period in which he stepped away from the spotlight to work through his own struggles. The emotive single is filled with vulnerability and introspection, exploring the experiences that have led him to this point and touching on themes of pain, faith, honesty, shame and repair.

A deeply reflective body of work, ‘This Bed I Made’ explores Guvna B’s personal journey through addiction, recovery, and the stigma that often surrounds it. Firmly rooted in the conscious rap space, the project is accompanied by a short film of the same name. Blending conscious jazz-rap with cinematic storytelling, the album’s themes of healing and responsibility find powerful expression on screen. Directed by Christoph Davis and starring Guvna B himself, the film offers an intimate portrayal of addiction and recovery as lived experience. Shaped by Guvna B’s own story, the project grapples with questions of accountability, and the quiet, often difficult work of rebuilding a life after it has fallen apart. Supported by The Forward Trust and Samaritans, the project and film aim to spark meaningful conversations around mental health, addiction, and recovery. The album features reflections from renowned trauma expert Gabor Maté, whose insights provide a clinical lens on the subject at the heart of the record. To mark the release, Guvna B will host a special screening of the film at the Curzon Cinema, followed by a Q&A with Jordan Stephens. Recently, he also joined BBC Radio 1 for a powerful discussion on men’s mental health alongside Prince William and Professor Green, hosted by Greg James, a conversation that highlighted his willingness to be vulnerable and to spark meaningful dialogue through music and storytelling.

Musically, Guvna B sits at the intersection of hip-hop, jazz, and gospel-rooted soul, blending live instrumentation, soulful hooks and thoughtful lyricism. His sound is grounded in community, musicianship, and meaning, music that resonates both emotionally and spiritually. He has just announced that he will be performing at Love Supreme Festival this summer, a seasoned live performer, Guvna B is known for immersive sets that translate vulnerability into collective energy, whether performing stripped-back or with a full band. His collaborations span an impressive range of artists including Wretch 32, DarkoVibes, D Double E, Ezra Collective, Madison Ryann Ward, Samm Henshaw, and many more. His previous album ‘The Village Is On Fire’ examined racism and social division with clarity and vulnerability, debuting at No.1 on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Chart and featuring award-winning writer and actress Michaela Coel, his cousin, on the track Bridgeland Road. With three MOBO Awards, multiple UMA Awards,9 albums, and two books to his name, including Unspoken, his widely praised exploration of toxic masculinity and manhood, Guvna B has established himself as a cultural voice far beyond music. Now a father of two, this new chapter of Guvna B’s work is shaped by responsibility, reflection and growth. ‘This Bed I Made’ stands as his most honest and emotionally open project yet, a body of work filled with unapologetic truth, self-examination and hope.
