Belgian pop superstar singer-songwriter Angèle today announces her upcoming album INSTINCT, set for release later this year via Angèle VL Records / Sony Music. The project is introduced by her new single “Dis-le”, released on June 19, marking the first chapter of this new creative era.
An invitation to trust your instincts and speak up, “Dis-le” introduces a new creative phase for Angèle — one rooted in intuition, immediacy and self-expression. Built around a hypnotic club pulse and the recurring call to “say it”, the track fuses intimacy with sleek pop immediacy. Produced by Angèle and long-time collaborator Tristan Salvati, and recorded between Brussels, New York and the south of France, “Dis-le” signals a bold evolution in her sonic world.
This new chapter finds its essence in the words that run through the track:
“Écouter son instinct / vivre que dans l’instant / manifeste au destin / tout restera certain.” (“Trust your instinct / live fully in the moment / manifest your destiny / and everything will align.”)
More than a motif, these lines set the tone for INSTINCT — a project shaped by sensation, movement and self-trust.
As Angèle explains: “Dis-le is an invitation to give voice to our inner thoughts, to express what we usually keep to ourselves. The song encourages us to break the silence, to free ourselves, and to boldly affirm our individual identity.”
The release arrived with a visually ambitious music video directed by Paris-based creative duo Suzie & Léo, developed alongside internationally acclaimed choreographic collective (LA)HORDE. Expanding on the themes at the heart of this new era, the film moves fluidly between day and night, control and surrender, following characters brought together by a shared need for freedom, self-expression and emancipation.
At its centre lies the rave — not simply as a setting, but as a space where identities intersect, boundaries dissolve and collective experience takes over. Rooted in (LA)HORDE’s long-standing exploration of nightlife and dancefloor cultures, the video reflects on the rave as a space of release, transformation and possibility, where instinct ultimately prevails over structure. For (LA)HORDE: “A contemporary ritual of radical release and pleasure, the rave embodies both catharsis and epiphany—through dance.”
This interplay between structure and instinct carries throughout Angèle’s upcoming album INSTINCT, where daylight reflects expectation and control, and the night opens up a space of movement, sensation and possibility.
Over the past years, Angèle has established herself as one of the most influential European artists of her generation. With multiple certified releases, close to 4 billion streams globally, sold-out arena tours and a cultural footprint extending across music, fashion and film, she has built one of the most distinctive artistic identities in European pop.
Her international profile continues to expand through collaborations with Dua Lipa, Phoenix and Kavinsky, a performance at the Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and major partnerships with global brands including Chanel, where she serves as Global Ambassador, and Adidas.
Earlier this year, Angèle unveiled “What You Want”, a collaboration with Justice that marked the beginning of this new sonic direction. Supported by major international editorial platforms including Zane Lowe, Genius, Trackstar, The Times and i-D, the release further cemented her growing presence beyond the Francophone world.
