‘Before I start painting, I spread out my canvas, I lay out my wild cotton fabric and I wonder, what kind of design can I make today? Before immersing my tool in the bark dye, with the stick in my hand, I receive the vision, I see what kind of designs I am going to create, and when I have a clear vision in mind of what I want to design, I begin with a line. And then I just know how I should go about continuing it.’
